Greetings everypony!

Well, I’m sure that if you have been on “Equestria Daily” or any other FIM news site tonight, you will have heard of this article. John de Lancie (as we all know as the voice behind Discord) has announced that he is already in work on a Documentary specificaly on the Brony community. And very exciting it is! 2012 is quickly turning into the year that Bronies expand beyond just a little craze, and become a community in their own right. New merchandise, DVD’s, staff-support, and now the prospect of our own Documentary!

I wrote an article on the news on my Spill.com blog, mostly of which contains analysis of the news and my own ideas on what the Documentary will be. Of course, it’s too early to guess, and John gave very little info on any specifics, but it seems that he will target as large an audience as possible, which suggests a TV appearance for it.

Not much else can be speculated, but times get better and better for the Bronies. Will this be the change that truely brings us into the public spectrum? Only time will tell, hopefully this will be released either at the end of 2012, or the start of 2013 going by how the timelines for Documentaries play out. Keep checking in for future updates to this story, and in the meantime, you can find my article here;

http://my.spill.com/profiles/blogs/john-de-lancie-working-on-a-bronies-documentary?xg_source=activity

That’s all I have for tonight, but I will have a special entry coming soon, looking back at the past year for the community and show. Be sure to check it out when I have it posted! Until then, have a wonderfully chaotic day!

-WhiteStar-

Because everything is better with a pinch of chaos. ;)

Well, it wasn’t so much a crashing, more of a “HEY, THERE’S JOHN.”

He’s dropped a few hints at more episodes than we thought with his voice talent in there.

So there we are everypony, another season finished. Hard to believe that we are at this point, isn’t it? There was once a time when we were worrying over whether the season would air at all, and yet Hasbro and The Hub delivered immensely on their promises. It’s been quite a journey, so let’s take a look back at some of the memorable points.

So, what did we see? Well, most prominent was the increased depth and texture to the animation itself, there were far fewer mistakes visible, and everything felt much more lush and vibrant. When you have a team who are as much dedicated to their fans as they are their work, it really shows. The music and songs were bang up to standard too, with some absolute gems such as “The kind of Pony Everypony Should Know” and of course, “This Day”. The Opera-styled themes to them continued, but grew more defined and recognisable in my opinion. The day we see an OST released will be a very exiting one indeed.

So, what were the highlights? I’m sure you all have many to offer, but the likes of “Lesson Zero” and “Putting Your Hoof Down” will definitely be on many lists. I have said many times before, that this show excels when the characters have conflict with their own personalities, it makes their stories much more relatable and more importantly, makes you feel for them. Season Two had many examples of this, leading to some truely memorable moments that separate Friendship Is Magic from the standard children’s show. It tackles themes and genres that anyone can, and will, relate to in some way.

The episodes weren’t without their controversy, the most infamous being Derpy’s appearance. It seems so trivial looking back at it now, and personally, I do think the animators took her a bit further than she needed to be. It did illustrate that the team does appreciate the Bronies very much, but also showed that it can backfire upon you to do so. Thankfully no harm was done, and despite what anyone will say, the studio had guts to try it out.

And of course, we got the epic finale of “The Canterlot Wedding”, which was the high-point in terms of animation, detail, voice work, and scale. Hasbro did not disappoint one bit, and despite some loop-holes in the story itself, I absolutely loved it. It bodes well for Season Three, which is confirmed to happen, so do need for any worrying. And with more merchandise, DVD’s, and fan-centred media on our way, 2012 is shaping up to be quite an awesome year for the Bronies.

So, remember to continue to show your support for the actors, animators, and everyone related to delivering the show to us. They have been incredibly fond to us over the past year, and they deserve all our thanks and praise. It’s funny how this season break doesn’t feel as long as the last one, maybe it’s because of the optamism? Either way, we have quite a year to look forward to.

Also, on a last note, here is my final review for now to the season finale, I hope you all enjoy it! You can find it here.

See you next time everypony!

—WhiteStar—

And let Princess Cadence and Shining Armour have a fantastic honeymoon, hopefully we’ll see them again in Season Three. ;)

Well, howdy. It’s been nearly a week again, hasn’t it? I apologise.

Anyway, super short update today, just letting you folks know of the schedule for the Season 2 Finale  (Feels bad saying that, but it’s going to be So Awesome!)

Someone on Google+ (Cheers Carrie!) let me know of the schedule change.

(Many thanks to Kitsune Hazard for beating me to Photoshoppery)

There you have it.

One hour of back to back brand new Ponies.

MY BODY IS READY

Apr 062012

It will end eventually, I’m sure

Apr 052012

Okay, this one I was meant to post the other day, but Shiny things happened.

You sure?

Alright, so I played a little bit of a demo just now for MLP:FiM Online – It seems like a pretty big undertaking, and the demo has its flaws, but the style of gameplay seems really cool

It’s a 2D walkabout game, with combat! The demo I played involved a Unicorn vs a Parasprite. The multi-player combat did have its issues “Damnit, I hit that!” but it seems like it could be really fun!

The Single player demo seems pretty solid. It seems to be Turn based for single player, Realtime for Multiplayer Not sure how it’s going to work, but hey, They’re releasing “Episode One” the day after BroNYcon June, where it will make its Debut to the community.

So much work is going into this project, it’s look so very, very promising.

Here’s a Trailer

The Team’s group on DeviantART – where they post demos, artwork and development updates

I’ll try and keep my eye on future updates as they come, promise!

Oh, and if you hadn’t heard:

Gabe Newell is a Brony. Sir Valve himself.

PONY HATS INCOMING

Evening everypony! I’m going to do two posts tonight to keep the Official stuff, and the misc stuff separate. I’d hate for you all to get horribly confused.

Anyway, as you all know, yesterday was April Foal’s day, so skimming through the various newsfeeds had to be taken with a bucket of salt, rather than just a pinch. But anyway, I digged and I digged and I dug a little further.

With a little help, obviously.

So, DHX Media hired a new writer yesterday. Now apparantly, they’ve announced 13 episodes of Season 3 already (Well, I missed that!), so hiring a writer at this late stage..? Maybe an extension on the pre-planned shortened season, or maybe even… a movie?!

Unfortunately, the tweet where Natasha Levinger (The new writer!) tweeted about her new job appears to have drifted down the intertubes into nothing.

Now, I can’t find any reliable source on the “Announced Episodes”, so unless that was a pull of the leg too.. (I should read more – yeah, it’s a prank.)

——

Whitestar beat me to it! Here’s my take on the whole thingy anyway. See Whitestar’s post for a more… mature view of it. :B

Now, I’m pretty sure you’ve all heard of the upcoming Season 2 Finale (Time has flown, croikey!), the My Little Pony: Royal Wedding!

Instead of throwing news everywhere, I’ve been biding my time on the subject to get some more concrete posting material, and Tonight’s the night I’m gathering it all up and ASSAULTING YOU WITH CAKE INFO

Can you even throw information?

I can Pinkie. I can.

Hubworld have finally gotten around to releasing their dedicated webpage to the Royal Wedding, which can be found Here

On the page, there’s a few interactive thingies!

A Rainbow Dash sidescrolling game, a Twilight Invitation designer, a pony creator, and there appears to be a vote going on for cakes of some kind.

There is also a Party Pack in a Zip folder. As well as some Wallpapers, there’s a bunch of party things in there. Paper HATS (Gabe, I see you there.) Party games (Pin the Bouquet on Rarity) and other pony party shenanigans.

So, if you’ve managed to successfully keep your head in the sand all this time, or have somehow managed to avoid the news, Princess Cadance is marrying Twilight Sparkle’s brother – Shining Armour. In a two part season finale, we’re going to see some serious hi-jinks going on while the Mane 6 help prepare Canterlot for the big day.

(Does this make Princess Celestia Twi’s Sister in Law?.. Heh.)

Here’s hoping nopony eats too much cake, huh?

What?! I expected it from Pinkie, not you, your highness!

Screw it, I’ll join you. Save me a piece!

Greetings everypony!

Well, it’s less than two weeks to go until the big event in Canterlot, and our season finale to Season Two of Friendship is Magic. And with a third season already prepared for us, it looks like things are bright for the Bronies right now. Hasbro has updated the MLP website with a whole area dedicated to the countdown to the Royal Wedding, including the variety of games we’ve grown to know from them, along with some rather interesting images. Some games will opne up between now and April 21st, so be sure to keep an eye on the site for updates!

Check out the page here. Also, let us know if you find any little hidden gems, there’s plenty to explore there.

Why is this particularly special? Well, Hasbro and The Hub seem to be really pushing this season finale, they know it’s something the young girls are going to love, and is an event the Brony community are going to fully embrace. Wedding Brony parties anyone? ;) Either way, between this and the announced extension to the merchandising lines, MLP is certainly going to go through a big transition in 2012, maybe not to the point where it enters the public eye, but will very likely become their primary series on The Hub.

So, with that in mind, it seems only right for us to give them the support on this, if it becomes a success, it will guarantee more new things for the show, and the fan community. Time to plan your events for the big day, and join in the celebration! Celestia seems to have the right idea with cake. :D

I hope you all enjoyed yesterday’s April foolishness, and see you again soon.

-WhiteStar-

Greetings once again everypony, WhiteStar here!

Feels like a very long time since I last posted here, it’s been a bit of a hard few months lately, and for the absense of new entries, I’m sorry. But, I’ll try to return to a regular stream of news once again as we reach the end of the Second Season.

And with that, have some news that got released recently, the U.K. PonyCon are holding their Annual Craft Raffle. As you may know already, they’re a very large community of classic My Little Pony fans, artists, and collectors, but have also embraced the Bronies recently too.  Previously called the International U.K. Pony Convention, they have held many large events down the years, and are holding their latest raffle , with some rather excellent prizes on offer! The most impressive of which, is this gigantic Princess Celestia canvas painting;

Pretty amazing work, isn't it? ;)

All craft works have been submitted by members of the PonyCon group out of good will, and all money will go towards the 2012 PonyCon. The closing date is Sunday, April 22nd, so be sure to get your hooves moving!

Tickets for the raffle cost £1 each, but you can also purchase 15 tickets for the special offer of £10. Full details on all the prizes on offer, terms, conditions, and how to submit for your tickets, can be found on the link here. Do your part in helping one of the U.K.’s biggest and longest-standing MLP groups, and you could win one of the wonderful crafts!

That’s all from me for now, thanks for reading everypony, and see you again soon. :)
